Some things can just wait.

I was going to tell you about some dangerously delicious popcorn I recently made and all about my 10 mile run last weekend and about our adventures in making butterbeer, but I can tell you about those things any old day. If your week has been anything like mine, you need some funny stuff to put the icing on your Friday cake. And you're in the right place. First there's this educational little tidbit... Then there's the truth in this... Speaking of books... The story of my educational life... My favorite kind of good fat... I know I'm not the only one... This one literally made me laugh out loud. Because I imagined myself doing it to certain people... True story... I found this one on Monday. That makes it more funny... Another one that produced an audible chuckle... Happy Friday people!!

Maybe I should turn this into a food blog...

I hope you all had a fabulous Valentine's Day! It was a weekend of celebrating over here. Friday night, Scott and I went on our official Valentine's date. Saturday, he surprised me with flowers and chocolates. Valentine's Day just isn't officially celebrated until chocolate is involved. Then Scott surprised me again on Sunday with this new jacket  in dark blue. Which I love. He got the same one for me in gray a few years ago, and it has been like my second skin. I seriously wear it a ridiculous amount. Year round. Because I am always cold. On Monday, I made these cookies . Which are actually called Brookies, because they are half brownie/half cookie. Because Grace's teacher's birthday was two days before school started, we decided we needed to surprise her with a half birthday celebration. Yesterday was the big half birthday, so I thought these were only appropriate. Pretty much any celebration isn't complete without chocolate in some form. For

Friday Funnies: So much truth.

I am just not one of those people who could post something every day. I don't run enough to talk about that every single day or even just on weekdays. I don't eat out enough to share my delicious meals with you. And some weeks, like this week, I barely manage to throw something together for dinner every night, so there isn't much worth sharing there either. I don't buy new clothes regularly. That kind of shopping tends to happen in spurts. And a lot of days are remarkably similar to the same day the week before and the week before that and the week before that. You get the point.  But I do like being able to share things I've learned, discovered, love or think are funny. Which is why I have become a big fan of posting Friday funnies. So happy Friday and here you go... This. So very true. Every. Single. Day. (Grace!) Made me laugh. Because it is so very true. Also made me laugh.  Ellie would be that kid.

Five things Tuesday. It's a thing.

I don't claim to be a fashion, health, beauty or food blogger. Although I throw in a little of those things now and then. This is one of those times. I have a few things I have been loving lately that I thought I would share because sharing is caring . My cousin bought me some GOOMEE hair loops after we had a conversation about my hair breakage issues. I am loving these! Not only do they come right out of my hair without taking a bunch of hair with them, but they also don't leave a mark. I was a little wary of how well my ponytail would stay put using these, but so far I have been happily surprised. So if you have breakage issues, hate that ponytail line in your hair after a workout, or just want to give your hair a little extra TLC, you need to get some of these. They come in 4-packs and there are a bunch of colors to choose from (mine are actually clear, which I love because they match everything). Another thing I was worried about was how many times I would be able to us

Food IS fuel. And a happy Monday to you.

I am usually all about Mondays. I love the newness and opportunity of a new week. But yesterday I was sick. And other than no longer running a fever, I am not feeling much better today. I reset my alarm when it went off this morning because I knew it was futile to attempt to work out when my body aches the way it does. So this week’s Monday isn’t turning out to be my favorite. Instead of being a Debbie Downer though, I decided to throw some randomness at you. Because it is what I do best. Randomness #1 – I miss writing. Actual writing.  With a paper and pen. Because everything I “write” ultimately needs to be in electronic format, there isn’t much point in putting it down on paper first. So watching my thoughts take shape in ink is something that rarely happens. But that I miss. Randomness #2 – I love the way the school smells on Monday. Except that it makes me hungry all day. Every Monday is pizza day. Randomness #3 – I finally got the purse I have
