One of my favorite breakfasts lately is a big bowl of steel cut oats with coconut almond milk and brown sugar crumble.
I love the oatmeal at Jamba Juice because of the brown sugar topping they put on it. So I did my best to copycat it. And I actually like my brown sugar crumble better!
I tried it on my yogurt and peaches last night and it reminded me of peach cobbler!
So here's the recipe for you to give it a try!
Brown Sugar Crumble
2 T coconut oil, melted
3 T brown sugar
1/2 c dry oats
2 T whole wheat flour
1/4 c chopped pecans
Mix ingredients. Then add honey to achieve crumbly consistency (about 2-3 T). Store in airtight container. Crumble will harden a bit overnight as the liquids absorb.
What do you like in your oatmeal? My second favorite is bananas and Nutella.
Totally going to have to try this. I need breakfast ideas...it's not least favorite meal.
ReplyDeleteOatmeal and smoothies are my breakfast staples!
DeleteOo that brown sugar crumble sounds amazing!! That is my favorite part of a peach cobbler. :)
ReplyDeleteI like small slices of Apple and walnuts in my oatmeal. If I do not have time I like the Wegmans cranberry and flax instant oatmeal.
DeleteLet me know if you try it and how you like it! And I'll have to try that Wegmans!!
