This is going to be short and sweet and to the point.
After school one day last week, my 9-year-old began sobbing the moment she saw me. He heart was breaking, and I felt like mine was being torn out of my chest. She finally calmed down enough to tell me what was wrong, and I discovered the cause of her heartbreak was other girls.
I went into serious mama bear mode and may have even said something about drop kicking her friends. But I calmed down, and we had a good talk about what had happened to her that day.
Since then, I've thought a lot about girls. Mean girls. And when I told my husband about the incident, he commented how he always heard about how catty and mean girls are to each other, but he didn't realize how true and how bad it really is until the last few years. He also commented that it never ends. That adults are as bad (or worse) than young girls.
It is a sad, sad truth.
So as you go about your Thursday, try to be a little kinder. Think before you speak. Kindness begins with you. Do unto others...
You get the idea.
